Sin dalla sua fondazione, da Paolo Monti in poi, il Circolo Fotografico La Gondola ha cercato una visione più autentica della città lagunare. Gianni Berengo Gardin, Fulvio Roiter, Bepi Bruno, Sergio Del Pero, Bruno Rosso e le decine di bravi fotografi passati attraverso il nostro sodalizio hanno fornito una lettura personale, un'interpretazione che soddisfacesse la loro creatività e al tempo stesso rispecchiasse un'autenticità oggettiva talvolta trascurata o dimenticata. Così è nata questa mostra che vede accanto ai nomi celebri le opere dei soci attuali in un "continuum" che consente di valutare l'evolversi di questo rapporto, negli ultimi anni spesso sofferto e problematico man mano che Venezia mutava le sue ragioni d'essere, economiche e sociali. In ogni caso, al di là di un auspicabile piacere visivo, la mostra costituirà per tutti l'occasione per verificare l'intensità del rapporto e, perché no, dell'amore verso la città che nonostante tutto crediamo ancora vivo e pieno di speranza.

Since its inception, from Paolo Monti on, the photography club La Gondola has kept looking for a more authentic vision of the city on the water. Gianni Berengo Gardin, Fulvio Roiter, Bepi Bruno, Sergio Del Pero, Bruno Rosso and the many good photographers associated with the Club throughout the years have provided a personal interpretation reflecting their own creative style and, at the same time, aimed at an often neglected objectivity. The exhibition, which presents works by famous names as well as present members, shows the continuing evolution of a deeply-felt relationship, often troubled and problematic in recent years as Venice changed in its social and economic structure. The exhibition is an opportunity to verify the enduring intensity of this relationship and share feelings of love and hope for our city.
